I MUST have a triple shot espresso. I MUST have dark chocolate.
I MUST be freeeee :)
Going cold turkey on caffeine, or just coffee, is a nice little reset. I like playing with it for short periods. Cannot give up caffeine forever, that sounds like an awful life lol
This song truly does feel like a hit of dopamine---I like.
As I was reading your essay and thinking about dopamine what came to mind was my very recently embraced attempt to engage on Twitter. As I was reading, I was considering how drawn in I was already getting by the Twitter algorithm. Enough that I deleted it from my phone yesterday, leaving my engagement strictly for work time when I'm at the computer. And then you unexpectedly called out that A - Z post. (Thanks!) It was truly a joy to write and share, but the need to intentionally get off the dopamine roller-coaster every so often remains as an essential discipline. I WILL enjoy my weekend.
I feel that 100%. I often take a couple days off from Twitter so I don't get pulled into the dopamine loop. You engage meaningfully across all platforms. And I admire how you always share thoughtful reflections, replies, and comments. I aspire to do the same but alas I end up falling behind. I hope to carve out a Rick Reading day so I can catch up on your wonderful writing
Thanks Rachael. I'm grateful for the intent to catch up on what I've been writing, but I know how hard it can be to keep up with all the people we want to support. There are so many good writers in our circle. I haven't been making it easy for friends to know where to focus in terms of reading my stuff as I've been spreading myself around to a number of ventures. But www.pivottothepodium.com is my main focus right now as I settle into writing about something I know best, speaking in public.

You, me, and caffeine forever ❤️☕️

That tidbit about "you must enjoy your weekend" is wonderful. You must enjoy your weekend too, Rachel!
Thank you, Rebecca! I hope you're having a great week so far :)
